Claus Andersen - Speaker Series guest

The Lambton College Digital Photography classes had the pleasure to hear from another guest in our on-going Guest Speaker series.

Claus Andersen thrilled the students with a presentation his images from 3 decades of his professional career and the diverse subjects he covers.  Andersen has covered 10 Olympics, 16 World Track and Field Championships, PGA golf, NHL hockey just to name a few of the big name events.  His client base includes small local companies to international publications and corporations such as The Hockey News, Getty Images and Nike.

Andersen shared many logistical and creative insights with the students and faculty in attendance.  We learned about the unique challenges faced while shooting a huge events.  One unique facet of Andersen's work is using eight studio strobes (similar to what the student are presently using) to illuminate hockey arenas to produce the best quality images.  The session was inspirational and very educational.  It gave us all a glimpse of covering sports locally and on the biggest stages around the world.

His presentation and interview was videoed by our students and will part of our Speaker Series collection.

Thanks to Claus Andersen for sharing his time, advice and images with our Lambton students!
