Elizabeth Bosma - Award winner!

Elizabeth Bosma, College Honourable Mention winner
Photographer's Forum Magazine competition.
Elizabeth Bosma, (one of our Second Year students) has been recognized in the Nikon sponsored 35th  Annual Photographer's Forum Magazine image competition.  Out of 17000 (Seventeen Thousand!!!) images from around the world, Elizabeth was chosen as one of the College Honourable Mentions from the finalist selection group!

Her photo will be published in the May 2015 issue of Photographer's Forum Magazine and in a hard-cover Best of College & High School Photography 2015 book.

The photograph of a Peddle Cab driver relaxing in the morning light was created in October on a Lambton College Digital Photography Field Study trip to New York City for all the second year students.

"The photo, was taken in Central Park and it was one of those unique moments, the way the light and simplicity of it came together." says Bosma.  She added that "I'm really surprised and and proud to have been selected"

Elizabeth (or Els for short) added that "the trip and (Lambton Digital Photography) program has helped me to build my confidence and be more open about my work"

According to the Program Co-ordinator Richard Beland, "One of the things that I’m most proud of with Els, and if I may, with all of our students, is that there is a traceable growth through First into Second Year showing the successful learning of technical and photojournalistic skills that are subsequently being used to tell interesting and creative stories."

He adds "The fact that Els has been recognized is an indication of many things, most notably, that Els’ consistent hard work as a student has earned her this well-deserved rank. It only stands to reason that she has a bright future to look forward to."

Congratulations Elizabeth!

Lambton College student Geri Freeborn was also chosen as a finalist in 2013.
