Goodbye New York! Day 5 (but more Blog entries to come)

Editor's note: The second-year Lambton College Digital Photography students are on a five-day work study visit to New York City.  Follow our daily blog about the adventure.  Each day, two students will share their thoughts on the experience.  Please join us as we experience New York City.

Our last day began with a hectic start. A roll call of 8:30 with all our belongings packed and ready to go for our flight home later that day. Once all our items were packed we headed out on the 7 train towards Manhattan, a different route than the regular N train.

The first stop on our last day of our adventure was Grand Central Station, where we had a limited amount of time to photograph such a historic location. Images captured here varied from stair cases to travelling people, the architecture and many other creative shots. Our stop may have been short, but many images were captured.

On the way to our visit to B+H Photo we spotted cosplayers all around. They were in town for the gigantic New York Comic Con show.  Many were very welcoming and allowed us to capture their photos in character form. One cosplayer even stopped to show us a clever magic trick which still has us amazed.

B+H Photo is a huge store varying in all things electronic from tvs to video equipment to our career choice of photography. You could easily get lost among all the amazing technology in every corner. The store itself is massive.

Our last and final stop of the day was Central park. Once in the park we started at the Strawberry Fields memorial, just days after what would have been John Lennon's 75th birthday.  We then split up and went our separate ways to explore. The park contained performers and horse rides around the park. As a surprise we found ourselves watching a parade. The entertainers and performers in this parade wore cultural and very colourful attire. They performed a cultural dance that was exciting to watch.

As we sit in the airport lobby writing this blog, we cant help but think and remember all the good times the big apple has brought to us. Ones that we will never forget. Thank you New York for the memories. This isnt goodbye, this is a see you later.
